Why F-Gas registration matters
Air conditioning systems contain fluorinated refrigerant gases, known as F-gases. They’re safe inside a sealed system, but they’re powerful greenhouse gases if they leak, so UK law controls who can work on them.
Any business that installs, repairs, maintains or decommissions air conditioning for customers must hold an F-Gas company certificate from an approved body, and the engineers who handle refrigerant must hold their own F-Gas qualifications.
Leeds Air Con is F-Gas registered. Work done by someone without certification is illegal, and it could leave you with an unsafe system and invalidate your manufacturer’s warranty.

How much does air conditioning cost to install in Leeds?

Can air conditioning heat my home as well as cool it?
Yes. Most modern split systems are air-to-air heat pumps. In heating mode they move warmth from the outside air into the room, which makes them an efficient way to heat individual rooms through the winter.
How long does an installation take?
A typical single-room wall-mounted system takes around a day. Multi-room and commercial installations take longer, and we’ll give you a clear timescale with your quote.
Do I need planning permission for air conditioning?
Most homes in England don’t need planning permission for an air conditioning system that heats as well as cools, as long as the outdoor unit meets the permitted development rules on size, position and noise. Listed buildings, conservation areas, flats and leasehold properties can be different. We’ll go through this with you at the survey.
Do you repair systems you didn’t install?
