Air conditioning, installed properly
A good air conditioning system should be quiet, efficient and barely noticeable — until you realise the room is exactly the right temperature. That comes down to choosing the right system, sizing it correctly and installing it carefully.
Leeds Air Con installs air conditioning in homes and businesses across Leeds and West Yorkshire. We handle the whole job ourselves: survey, supply, installation, commissioning and aftercare. As an F-Gas registered company, we’re certified to handle the refrigerant in your system and we record the work properly.

Good to know
Where the units go
The indoor unit
Usually high on a wall with clear space around it, so the air can circulate the whole room. Placing it on or near an outside wall keeps pipe runs short and neat.
The outdoor unit
Mounted on a wall bracket or a ground stand where it has good airflow and can be reached for servicing. We also think about noise for you and your neighbours, and how it looks.
Pipework and drainage
Refrigerant pipes, cable and the condensate drain run through one small hole in the wall, finished in neat trunking inside and out.
F-Gas registered
Legal, safe and properly recorded
Connecting and commissioning an air conditioning system means handling refrigerant, and in the UK only F-Gas certified businesses and engineers can do that for customers. Leeds Air Con is F-Gas registered, so your installation meets the regulations and your system’s records are kept as the law requires.
Questions
Air conditioning installation questions
How long does air conditioning installation take?
A typical single wall-mounted system takes around a day. Multi-split, ducted and commercial systems take longer, and we’ll confirm the timings in your quote.
Will there be much mess or disruption?
Installing a split system usually means drilling one hole through an outside wall for the pipework. We put dust sheets down, keep pipe runs neat and tidy up before we leave.
Where does the outdoor unit go?
Usually on a wall bracket or a ground stand close to the indoor unit, where it has good airflow and can be reached for servicing. We also consider noise and how it looks from the street and next door.
How noisy is air conditioning?
Modern indoor units are very quiet on low fan speeds, comfortably quiet enough for a bedroom. Outdoor units make a low hum while they’re running.
Do I need planning permission?
Most homes in England don’t need planning permission for an air conditioning system that heats as well as cools, as long as the outdoor unit meets the permitted development rules on size, position and noise. Listed buildings, conservation areas, flats and leasehold properties can be different. We’ll check this with you at the survey.
Does air conditioning need servicing?
Yes. Regular servicing keeps the system efficient, hygienic and reliable, and manufacturers often make it a condition of the warranty. We’ll recommend a service interval for your system.
